How It Works

The Basics

Our giving circle is a way to magnify and focus our individual philanthropy by pooling funds with each other and making a collective decision. Each member contributes $100 four times per year. At each meeting, the members decide on the recipient.

It’s simple, effective and very powerful.

The Details

We are looking to build-up nonprofits that are grassroots, volunteer based who provide a much needed service to our community. At each meeting, three pre-nominated organizations are invited to share their story (5 minutes each) followed by 5 minutes of questions and answers from the members. Then members vote and each person writes their check for $100 (checks only - no cash or credit card) directly to the winning nonprofit chosen for a collective, impactful donation.

100 members write their checks for $100 = $10,000
150 members write their checks for $100 = $15,000
200 members write their checks for $100 = $20,000

What it means to be a member

Members understand that by joining 100+ Women Strong Inland Mendo they are committing to contribute $400 per year ($100 at each of the four meetings) to local non-profits who are making a difference in our community. If a member isn’t able to attend all four meetings, they are still committing to mail in their check for $100 made payable to the non-profit that was chosen by the members. This information will be communicated on our Facebook page and website.
